OK, what is your favorite D&D monster, you have either fought or used as a DM?
Mine would have to be
Fought: Dragons. I know, who does not like dragons, but they have been some of the best games with the coolest fights, I have played in. You have not played until you have battled a dragon! Live or die, it is always a good story.
Used as a DM: Spiders, everyone who has played with me knows how I love to use spiders (Rats and skeletons are close up there too). Spiders are nasty because well, you can see them in real life and in fantasy when you are facing off with a giant one, it takes less imagination to know how horrible it would be to fight one of the 8-legged buggers.

Few things are as entertaining as your entire party being disemboweled by a Dire Wolf.

Dire Kobolds.
Nothing is more delightful than a raging kobold with a 19 AC to scare the crap out of 2nd to 3rd level PCs.

I like Zombies. Any kind of undead really. There is something so wrong about dead things coming back to get you. We had to go through this swamp filled with undead in a few adventures, it used to scare the crap out of me. I loved it. And an entire town full of brain sucking zombies was so cool.

I have to say dragons too. Especially white dragons, nothing like having half of your party turned into ice while sailing across a lake bigger than the great lakes.
