Ok, I have never played a shield warrior and haven't played with very many either so I think I will make a shield warrior as my next character. I just want to clarify some things to make sure I don't do them wrong in game.
The (SP) Shield Other Talent it says that as an (Me) action the shield warrior may add his shield bonus to an allies DRM as long as he is with 1" of the shield warrior.
[a] I was wondering, if I was fighting on the defensive as a (Me) action and use my other (Me) to shield other. The shield bonus I would have would be doubled. Would I double the shield bonus for the ally I am shielding?
Ex: I am wielding an Exquisite +2 Large shield (Defense bonus +6). I decide to fight on the defensive as my first (Me) and as a fuarie I am riding on the guy I am guarding's shoulder so I did not have to move as I move with him. This frees up my 2nd (Me) to Shield Other on him.
Would he get a +12 bonus due to me fighting on the defensive or just a +6 for what my normal shield bonus is?
[b] If I have talents that increase my defense and they specifically say that they apply to MY defense bonus but only apply when I wield a shield, those will NOT apply to the bonus I give to the ally I am shielding since the talent is separate from the actual shield bonus. Correct?
Ex: For instance I have Shield Expert 1-3 Treed Talent now this gives me a +3 bonus to my defense whenever I am wielding a shield. Now I am wielding an Exquisite +2 Large shield (Defense Bonus +6) now I shield other on the ally I am riding. My Defense bonus from the treed talent and the shield is +9.
My ally would just get the +6 from the shield and not the full +9 as 3 of it is from a talent and not the shield?
[c] If I am shielding other with a magical shield does the ally I am shielding get the magical bonus of the shield as well?
Ex: I am wielding a Thrice Riven Shield FTVIII. It makes the wielder Immune to crushing attacks and effects and gives the player a +5 Magic bonus to defense.
Would the ally I am riding/shielding get just the base weapon bonus (+4), The base weapon bonus (+4) and the magic bonus (+5), the base weapon bonus (+4) and the Immunity to crushing, or the base weapon bonus (+4) the magic bonus (+5) and the immunity to crushing?
